So, let's start:

Change the following sentence to indirect narration and vice-versa:

1. He said, "I play".
2. They boy said, "I want to play".
3. My teacher said, "The earth is round".
4. The saint said to me, "Man is mortal".
5. The woman said, "Someone stole my phone.'
6. My classmate said to me, "We shall meet next Sunday."
7. She says, "I am happy".
8. I said to my friend, "Mary may pass the examination."
9. She said that I had done that work.
10. The doctor said that health is wealth.

Questions along with Answers of the above questions:

1. He said, "I play".
Answer: He said that he played.
2. They boy said, "I want to play".
Answer: They boy said that he wanted to play.
3. My teacher said, "The earth is round".
Answer: My teacher said that the earth is round. [A short explanation: "The earth is round" is a universal truth fact, so if we change the narration we have to keep the tense of the reported speech unchanged - My teacher said that the earth was round - this type of transformation is unconventional.]
4. The saint said to me, "Man is mortal".
Answer: The saint told me that man is mortal. [A short note: 'Said to" is changed into 'told' in indirect speech.]
5. The woman said, "Someone stole my phone.'
Answer: The woman said that someone had stolen her phone.
6. My classmate said to me, "We shall meet next Sunday."
Answer: My classmate told me that we would meet next Sunday.
7. She says, "I am happy".
Answer: She says that she is happy. [Note: In this case the reporting verb is in present tense, so in the transformed indirect speech the reported speech will remain in its same form.]
8. I said to my friend, "Mary may pass the examination."
Answer: I told my friend that Mary might pass the examination. [A short note: 'may" is changed into 'might' in indirect speech.]
9. She said that I had done that work.
Answer: She said you have done this work.
10. The doctor said that health is wealth.
Answer: The doctor said, "Health is wealth".
