Worksheet of Active & Passive Voice : Present Continuous Tense

Our website provides you with a complete series of worksheets of English Grammar. We have already brought out worksheet on Voice Change of sentences based on Present Indefinite tense.

In this post, we are providing a worksheet on voice change of sentences based on Present Continuous tense (aka - present progressive tense).

Before doing it at first let's look at the following example-

      •        She is eating a pancake.
Answer: A pancake is being eaten by her.

From the above example you probably have understood that, while changing a sentence from active to passive voice we have to -
1. Use the subject (of the sentence of active voice) as the object (of the sentence of passive voice.)
2. Use am/is/are according to the subject of the passive voice.
3. Use being after the auxiliary verb.
4. Use the past participle form of the principal verb.

If you have properly understood it, solve the questions that follow:-

1. They are doing it.
2. We are solving this problem.
3. You are cutting the tree.
4. Devid is bringing the book
5. Someone is calling Mr Roy.
6. I am trying to do a real hard sum.
7. The man is dealing with a deal.
8. I am wearing a shirt.
9. He is looking at me.
10. My teacher is teaching me.

Answers of the above questions-

1. It is being done by them.
2. This problem is being solved by us.
3. The tree is being cut by you.
4. The book is being brought by Devid.
5. Mr Roy is being called by someone.
6. A real hard some is being tried to be done by me. (Explanation - In this case, 'A real hard sum' is the subject of the passive voice. We have also changed the voice of the part 'to do' - which is now 'to be done'.)
7. A deal is being dealt with by the man.
8. A shirt is being worn by me.
9. I am being looked at by him.
10. I am being taught by my teacher.
