Exercise on Transformation of Sentences - Simple, Complex, Compound

Transform the following sentences as directed :

1.  During my stay there I was quite well. (Transform into a complex sentence)

Ans. : When I stayed there, I was quite well.

2.  It seemed impossible that he could escape. (Transform into a simple sentence)

Ans. : It seemed impossible for him to escape.

3.  Only those boys who will work hard will succeed. (Transform into a simple sentence)

Ans. : Only the hard working boys will succeed.

4.  I am so tired that I cannot walk. (Transform into a simple sentence)

Ans. : I am too tired to walk.

5.  Taking pity on the beggar the child gave him a coin. (Transform into a compound sentence)
